Little Girl

As a little girl, she is counting on her older self to protect her.

She was a little girl with hope in her big doll eyes, carrying the most precious smile, looking at everyone with only one need - of being loved. Other kids her age craved sweet dishes and demanded big toys, but all she ever wanted was a little bit of attention when she ran towards her parents with a marksheet scoring an outstanding grade. She was always looked at for her cuteness but was never looked after for her sensitiveness. Quite often being told that you are so mature for your age, no one ever questioned how someone so young can be so brave.

Years later, when that cute girl turned into a pretty woman, she started looking for the love that she never got - in the wrong places of course. When in childhood she was admired for being cute, after growing up everyone just looked at her with lustful eyes. She never left the hope of being loved and kept searching, only to realize that she would never experience it. How terrible is this society that we live in, can't even return a bit of love to a girl who defines what love is.

But eventually, she realized that she is someone so beautiful inside and out that when she walks into a room every head turns to look at her – of course for the way she looks, but also for the way she makes others feel about themselves. Quite rare of a quality it is! The way she talks, the way she walks, the way she laughs, the way she cracks jokes, the way she compliments people, the way she talks to babies and pets – she was all that she was looking for. “LOVE” – is how someone can define her. It took her time and a lot of heartbreaks, but eventually, she realized that she doesn’t need to find love because she already had it. The universe expressed love towards her in its own ways – the strangers smiling back at her, animals wanting to play with her, babies laughing with her, elderly people wanting to talk to her. This is the kind of love she received back – not the typical one but definitely the purest one.

Now she walks around with a smile even brighter, carrying hope for the world to be better (while trying her best to make it better, of course). She looks at the world from a different perspective. She does feel bad for the little girl who was abandoned, but only if she could go back in time and give her a big hug, assuring her that maybe being left alone is the best thing that could have happened to her. What if she was never left alone? Would she have grown up to be a different person? Would she still have grown up to be a kind-hearted girl who believes that deep down everyone is just a little kid with lots of kindness within them?

I guess we would never know, but having a ball of sunshine who unknowingly makes people smile - can never be thanked enough!
